Two installers are published. Both behave identically once a model is loaded — you can always add or switch models later.

The standard installer. No model included — you sideload a .gguf file yourself after installing.

Best for

Air-gapped machines, restricted networks, or if you already know which model you want to use.

Rafeeq (with starter model)

Includes a small starter model (Qwen2.5-0.5B-Instruct) that installs automatically on first launch. Nothing to configure.

Best for

Anyone on a normal internet-connected machine who wants to start chatting immediately.

Installing on a machine with no internet

Use the standard installer and bring the model over yourself.

  1. 1Download on a connected computerGet the standard installer, and a .gguf model file from Hugging Face. A file ending in Q4_K_M is a good balance of size and quality.
  2. 2Copy both files acrossUse a USB drive or an internal file share.
  3. 3Install, add the model, refreshOpen Rafeeq, go to Models, choose Open models folder, drop the file in, then click Refresh.

~3 MB for the app, plus the size of each model you add.

Compare the SHA-256 checksum of the installer you downloaded with the one published for this release.
